Test Environment & Coordination Manager

The client is looking for someone for 6 months on site 3 days per week and 2 days from home. The role is for a minimum 6 months for a leading Utilities client.

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented Test Environment & Coordination Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and management of test environments and activities across multiple project teams. This hybrid role blends test environment oversight with QA coordination to ensure environments are available, stable, and aligned with sprint delivery and test execution needs.

The ideal candidate will act as the bridge between engineering, QA, and operations, resolving environment contention issues, scheduling testing windows, and ensuring that test teams are fully supported with the resources, communication, and infrastructure required for quality delivery.

Test Planning & Coordination

• Work with QA leads and project managers to define test windows aligned to sprint goals and release plans.
• Coordinate test schedules across multiple teams to avoid resource/contention issues.
• Track progress of test activities and follow up on blockers with environment or configuration dependencies.

Environment Management

• Define and implement processes to track test environment availability, usage, and allocation.
• Oversee the provisioning and configuration of test environments for sprint-based projects.
• Work with release and DevOps teams to automate environment setup and decommissioning processes.

Stakeholder Communication & Support

• Serve as the main point of contact for test environment requests and conflict resolution.
• Provide clear communication to QA and PMO teams on environment status and scheduling.
• Support onboarding of new projects into the test landscape by helping define test environment requirements.

Monitoring & Issue Resolution

• Proactively monitor test environments to ensure uptime and performance.
• Coordinate root cause analysis and resolution of environment-related issues during testing phases.
• Maintain documentation of environment configurations, schedules, and support workflows.

Reporting & Improvement

• Develop and track KPIs such as environment uptime, test schedule adherence, environment request response times, and defect leakage due to environment issues.
• Identify areas for process improvement and propose automation or standardization to reduce delays in testing.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, QA, or related field.
• 4+ years experience in QA coordination, test environment management, or software delivery.
• Proven ability to coordinate across multiple teams in a fast-paced, agile delivery setting.
• Solid understanding of QA processes, SDLC, and environment lifecycle management.
• Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, test management tools (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr), and CI/CD pipelines.

Preferred Skills

• Basic knowledge of infrastructure-as-code and release automation tools.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and planning skills.
• Experience managing test activities in regulated or high-compliance environments (e.g., financial services, healthcare) is a plus.
