Established in 1993, Meadows & Byrne, an Irish family company, was founded on the premise of providing its customers with smart, stylish stores, purveying timeless collections in homeware, furniture and fashion.

We are looking to add a junior buyer to our buying office team. Working full time in our office in Blarney, Co. Cork, we are looking for someone with drive and passion, who has a real interest in homewares and fashion, ideally with a retail background. Skill sets required would include:

  • Creativity and innovation are key to bringing fresh ideas and staying ahead of trends whilst remaining commercial. Understanding our brand, our customer and delivering the correct product for our stores, under the guidance of our CEO and head of buying.
  • Analytical skills: crucial for analysing sales data, market trends, and consumer behaviour. Using our in house data reporting system daily to follow the life cycle of product from the buying stage through to sell through. The buyer is responsible for this full life cycle.
  • Negotiation skills: essential for negotiating with suppliers and vendors to secure the best deals. Full training on same will be supported.
  • Financial acumen is required for budget management and financial planning to ensure profitability. Understanding, after training, that the buying role is key to the success of our business.
