Overview of role:

UPMC are recruiting an Access to Care Advisor within the Theatre Scheduling team on a 12-month fixed term contract. This is a full-time position, based in the UPMC Cleaboy office, Waterford. The Access to Care Advisor will be part of an integrated team across our UPMC healthcare services that will simplify Access to Care for our patients. The successful candidate will be expected to operate with agility and diligence to ensure the success of the Access to Care team in the furtherance of our mission of bringing life changing medicine to all the patients and communities for whom we are privileged to serve. We are looking for a candidate with healthcare experience who is service-minded and is driven to help others and make the patient experience as straightforward as possible. The candidate will be a team-player who is adaptable, responsive and learning-minded in a fast paced environment. They will be organised in their approach and competent in the use of technology to facilitate a collaborative and effective way of working. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

The Access to Care advisor will: Facilitate patient access to our services and healthcare professionals Ensure effective communication to all our stakeholders including patients and staff Provide wide-ranging administrative support to enable the smooth running of our services The Access to Care team is responsible for the efficient processing of administrative support services throughout our facilities and include: Inpatient Scheduling Outpatient Scheduling Claims Management Referrals Management Cash Collection/AR Patient Experience Inpatient scheduling duties include but are not limited to: Responsibility for scheduling patient procedures and related physical pre-assessment appointments in a timely manner Collection and confirmation of patient demographic and insurance information as required, and enter data accurately into the departments Scheduling system. Ensure timely and effective communication with patients in advance of their admission Establish and maintain open and professional communication with ancillary departments and Consultant whose services are scheduled by this department Communication of theatre schedules to relevant departments Meet KPI metrics defined for the department

12 months experience in a similar role or healthcare setting Business/Secretarial Qualification Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Experience of healthcare systems including iPims desirable Equal Opportunity Statement and Benefits
