Dublin Zoo holds the prestigious position of being ‘Irelands Number One Fee Paying Family Attraction welcoming in excess of one million visitors each year.

Our purpose is to save wildlife and inspire a passion for nature - one person, one family at a time.

We are currently seeking to recruit highly enthusiastic, flexible and reliable Visitor Operations Assistants to support our team in the areas of front gate, ticket offices, and retail shops.

The successful candidates must demonstrate excellent customer service and interpersonal skills and will have previous experience working within the retail / customer service sector.

Requirements

Customer Service

  • Greeting customers on arrival to the Zoo in a polite and friendly manner.
  • Promoting and selling Zoo shop products to customers.
  • Providing excellent standards of customer Service to all customers.
  • Dealing with customer queries and requests promptly and efficiently.
  • Handling and resolving customer complaints promptly and efficiently and passing them on or communicating them to management.
  • Assisting visitors and customers in the zoo through turnstiles and giving directions.
  • Provide information in response to inquires about the event.
  • Providing information on amenities and area locations within Dublin Zoo, and other information that provides valuable service to our customers.

Cash Handling

  • Following cash procedures in place.
  • Operation of Tills.
  • Dealing with cash transactions, ensuring accuracy when charging customers and distributing change.
  • Cashing up of tills, in accordance with procedures, ensuring accuracy when counting and recording figures.

Merchandising

  • Follow merchandising guidelines
  • Display all products neatly and in a presentable and appeasing manner.
  • Ensuring all products are priced correctly.
  • Required to follow management and supervisory instruction.
  • To carry out other duties within the Zoo where required by the Management.

This is a casual fixed term contract position with variable weekly hours.
