About the role
An exciting opportunity has just opened to join the Davy Compliance team as the Financial Crime Compliance Associate Director. The purpose of this role it to support the Davy Group Chief Compliance Officer/MLRO, manage the Financial Crime Compliance team within Davy Compliance and oversee the management of Financial Crime risk and compliance (as a second line of defence function). In the role, the successful candidate will:
- Managing the day to day operation of the Financial Crime function including the support team;
- Overseeing the financial crime risk framework including policies and procedures and related compliance activities for Davy Group companies;
- Providing advice and assistance to business partners in the firm ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements;
- Advising senior management and the Board(s) on financial crime risk exposure;
- Preparing and presenting reports for Directors and the CCO/MLRO on financial crime compliance on a regular basis;
- Collaborating and liaising with regulatory authorities and other external parties as well as with internal stakeholders as relevant;
- Maintaining, updating and overseeing an effective financial crime compliance monitoring program;
- Monitoring changes in applicable laws and regulations and providing guidance to Group companies in relation to implementation; and
- Provide guidance on day-to-day financial crime matters affecting the business based on regulatory compliance requirements and industry best practice
- Conduct regular risk assessments to identify and mitigate financial crime risks.
- Implement effective controls to manage identified risks.
- Oversee investigations into suspected financial crimes and manage incidents and ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken.
About you
We are looking for somebody who has the following background and skills:
- Relevant 3rd level Degree (Business, Finance, Law or equivalent) and / or Compliance qualification;
- 10+ years working in a regulated environment with a financial crime focus
- A proven ability to act as a functional SME with the capability to challenge interpretation, coordinate responses where required and prepare insightful briefings for Davy leadership .
- Analytical approach and attention to detail with good organisational skills are important;
- Ability to manage, motivate and develop a team;
- Strong communication skills including an ability to concisely articulate alternative views under pressure.
