Risk Manager

ROLE OVERVIEW

PURPOSE OF JOB

The role holder will act as a Senior/Risk manager reporting to and working alongside the Designated Person PCF39C for Fund Risk Management on behalf of JTC Global AIFM Solutions (Ireland) Ltd which is authorised as an Alternative Investment Fund Manager (AIFM).

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• Responsibility for ensuring the funds under management are managed in accordance with risk management framework, risk appetite, the fund offering documents, internal risk limits and applicable regulatory limits, AIFMD, and Central Bank regulations and regulatory guidance.
• Effectively measure, manage and monitor the risk profile of the funds in line with risk appetite and applicable RMP.
• Prepare board reporting on a quarterly basis in respect of the oversight of investment risk in the funds.
• Review any investment breaches, constructively challenging the stakeholder control environment to prevent recurrence, reviewing incident reports, internal escalation and presenting to the board, as necessary.
• Work collaboratively with Investment Managers, Fund Administrators and Depositaries to identify issues and find efficient solutions in the best interests of investors and escalate significant concerns in a timely manner.
• Review on an ongoing basis the liquidity risk characteristics of all Products, regularly overseeing current liquidity levels of risk and monitor against liquidity tolerances set by the Company.
• Ensure periodic stress tests (including Liquidity Stress testing) and risk analysis are conducted to identify, measure, manage and monitor risks associated with the investment and fund positions.
• Assist DPs, execute on the delegate oversight requirements including review/approval of delegate policies where applicable.
• Responsible for policies allocated to the ownership of fund risk function, update regularly and ensure approval as required.
• Ensure Board approves the risk profile of the fund(s) prior to fund launch and as a result of proposed post-authorisation amendment changes, as required.
• Perform onboarding procedures in advance of new fund launch where applicable.
• Review and advise on forward looking risk matters to Investment / Portfolio Managers and boards proactively identifying areas of challenge and attend industry events applicable to the role.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

• The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience and track record in a risk management capacity in the asset management or funds industry.
• Experience with Alternative Investment across asset classes a distinct advantage.
• Should have significant experience in regulations/ guidance issued by the CBI and other relevant European regulatory bodies (ESMA) including a thorough understanding of the Central Bank of Irelands Fund Management Company Guidance (CP86) requirements, AIFMD, and Consultation Papers.
• Highly numerate and proficient in risk analysis stress testing methodologies.
• Strong open communication skills, organized, analytical and solution orientated.
• Ability to identify material issues and know when to escalate them.
