Apprentice Toolmaker (Full-Time, Permanent) - Carlow Toolmaking Services

Carlow Toolmaking Services is excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Apprentice Toolmaker. This apprenticeship will provide you with the chance to learn the trade of Toolmaking while working alongside experienced professionals. Youll complete the NQA Level 6 Qualification Apprenticeship Programme, receiving comprehensive training under the Solace Training System.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Learn to operate manual precision machines such as manual mills and lathes.
  • Gain hands-on experience in programming CNC machines to produce precision components from design drawings using CAD.
  • Develop a solid understanding of engineering drawings, geometric dimensions, and tolerances.
  • Follow all company safety protocols and quality initiatives to maintain high standards in the workplace.
  • Complete the full toolmaker apprenticeship, including both practical training in the tool room and classroom-based learning through the educational Training Board.
  • Work closely with skilled toolmakers, learning the ins and outs of the trade.

Requirements:

  • Leaving Certificate education with full results attached to your application.
  • Fluent in English (both written and spoken).
  • A genuine interest in engineering and a desire to learn the Toolmaking trade.
