THE TEAM
This opportunity is to join an Agile team of solid engineers, who are redesigning Creditsafe’s data platform with high throughput and scalability as a primary goal. The data delivery platform is being built upon AWS Redshift and S3 cloud storage. The platform is expected to manage over one billion objects along with daily increments of more than 10 million objects while handling addition, deletion, and correction of our data and indexes in an auditable manner. Our data processing application is entirely based on Python and designed to efficiently transform incoming raw data volumes into an API consumable schema. The team is also building highly available and low latency APIs to enable our clients to faster data delivery.
The wider Quality Assurance community within Creditsafe work together to drive a quality culture into the teams acting as knowledge experts on quality. We test throughout the lifecycle and believe that the whole team is responsible for the quality of our deliverables. We implement intelligent automation and are proponents of thinking critically about the features developed by our teams.
JOB PROFILE
The Engineering Manager will be responsible for overseeing the engineering team, ensuring the successful delivery of projects, and driving the continuous improvement of engineering processes. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, deep understanding of engineering principles, and expertise in AWS and data-heavy systems.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and mentor a team of geographically distributed engineers to drive technological advancements.
• Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of technology projects using agile methodologies.
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align project goals and ensure seamless integration.
• Provide technical direction and expertise in AWS, systems design, and data-heavy environments.
• Work with business stakeholders to gather requirements and build a development roadmap.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
• Develop and manage the engineering budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and tracking expenditures.
• Communicate project status, risks, and issues to senior management with actionable insights and recommendations.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Proven experience in an engineering management role.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to groom and mentor junior engineers.
• Excellent project management skills, with experience in agile methodologies preferred.
• Expertise in AWS, Python, and systems design, particularly with data-heavy systems.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and effectively.
• Ability to collaborate and share ideas via wikis, discussion boards, etc., for the benefit of the team.
• Proven track record of hands-on technical work and providing leadership on complex technology issues.
